US Ranks #5 in Global Connection Speed, #41 in Cost

LONDON — While the US ranks five among 54 countries studied for internet connection speed (107.28 Mbps), it ranks only 41 for average monthly cost ($69.04), according to the Global Broadband Index, an annual report prepared by comparethemarket.com that reveals the average monthly cost, average download and upload speed, and the time it takes to download one hour of Netflix in 54 countries around the globe.

To put connection speeds into context, to download an hour-long TV show from Netflix in Singapore would take just 16 seconds, and in the USA it would take 28 seconds, while in Kuwait it could take as long as 3 minutes, 18 seconds.
