Ultimate on Demand brings Netflix to Sky Q today

After months of promises, Sky has finally added Netflix to its services as of today (November 1st), with users now able to add the on-demand service to their subscription and pay just one monthly price for all the films and shows they can possibly binge.

This means Sky Q customers will be able to seamlessly watch a huge range of great shows in one place, including Sky originals like Patrick Melrose, hit US shows such as Game of Thrones, and Netflix original content such as Stranger Things and The Crown.

The service is part of Sky's Ultimate on Demand deal, which is available to both new and existing customers and also includes over 500 shows from Sky Box Sets. It will cost £10 a month on top of a user's existing Sky subscription - a saving of 20 per cent compared to buying the packages separately.

Sky Q Entertainment customers with a Sky TV subscription will be able to enjoy all of Netflix's standard services in high-definition on up to two screens at a time.

However, those with the Sky Q Experience/Sky Q Multiscreen subscription, which costs an extra £12 a month, will be automatically upgraded to Netflix's premium plan, which includes hundreds of hours of 4K ultra high definition content and the ability to watch on up to four devices simultaneously.

There is no lengthy contract, so users can try the services on a monthly rolling subscription.

Stephen van Rooyen, Chief Executive Officer at Sky UK and Ireland, said: "We want Sky Q to be the number one destination for TV fans. Partnering with Netflix means we will have all the best TV in one great value pack, making it even easier for you to watch all of your favourite shows."

If you already have a Netflix subscription, you'll be able to log in to the app using your current details directly through your Sky Q box and migrate to the Ultimate on Demand deal, keeping all their profiles, recommendations and watch lists.
