Windows 10 Mobile no longer a focus for Microsoft

Microsoft will no longer focus on Windows 10 Mobile, and users should not expect new features and hardware on the platform.

This is according to Microsoft's Joe Belfiore.

Belfiore said on Twitter they unsuccessfully tried to incentivise app developers to produce apps for the platform.

Microsoft even paid for app development and wrote apps, but the volume of users on Windows 10 Mobile was too low for companies to invest in it.

He said Microsoft will continue to support the platform with bug fixes and security updates, but new features and hardware is not the focus.

Belfiore said as an individual user, he switched platforms for the app and hardware diversity.
