Mobile Operator EE UK Goes Green with nPower Renewable Electricity Deal

Telecoms operator EE has signed a new deal that will see nPower supply the mobile giant with 680 GigaWatts of renewable electricity from green sources, such as wind farms and solar plants. The deal should also help BT to reach its target of purchasing 100% renewable electricity by 2020.

EE's parent, BT, recently announced a related ambition to reduce their carbon emissions by 87% in time for 2030. Stephen Harris, EE's CFO, said: "An organisation the size of ours has a responsibility to conduct business sustainably and this new deal, whilst also making sense from a business perspective, reaffirms our commitment to doing just that. This is just the latest step in working towards our renewable energy goals and ultimately a low-carbon business model."
