Facebook and Twitter fighting online hate

Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Twitter and other tech companies are joining the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).

The companies and ADL will establish a Cyberhate Problem-Solving Lab to counter online hate speech.

The companies will collaborate to exchange ideas, investigate areas of risk, and devise new approaches to address cyberhate.

Each company will draw on best practices to inform its approach to hate speech online.

ADL will advise on policy considerations and offer insight into how hate and extremist content manifests and evolves online.

The initiative will be managed by ADL's Center for Technology and Society in Silicon Valley.
